Centre for International Competitiveness
Founded in 2007, the Centre for International Competitiveness focuses on researching and exploring the competitiveness of economies and businesses.
The mission of the Centre is to provide a platform for stimulating and disseminating research on competitiveness across the business, policymaking, and academic communities.
The Centre aims to provide a research bridge connecting studies and debates relating to the competitiveness of economies – nations, regions or localities – and businesses. This linking of macro and micro-level aspects of competitiveness provides the cornerstone of the Centre’s vision for producing and disseminating research relevant to understanding and furthering competitive business strategy making and economic policymaking in tandem.
The Centre was founded by Professor Robert Huggins of Cardiff University and Dr Hiro Izushi of Aston Business School, and is the home of the influential World Knowledge Competitiveness Index, European Competitiveness Index, and UK Competitiveness Index. The reports related to these indices, along with others in our Competitiveness Research Report series, can be accessed from our website.
